In case you are a proud owner of a sealed floor, then it is most likely a surface sealed floor that will not take much of your time. In case you have an older floor, you most likely have penetrating seal treated floor. You will need to apply more oils and wax to maintain this type of floor.
For cleaning hardwood floors, in the case of a surface sealed floor, you merely need to mop using a product recommended by your flooring manufacturer. Products that do not contain oil, like Oil Soap, are safe to be used. Use some soap and a damp mop on this type of floor and you will be safe. Make sure to dry the floor completely when you’re done, since sitting water can damage a surface sealed floor.
Mopping the floor with water-based products will not be possible if you have penetrating seal treated floor. But for routine cleanings, use a vacuum cleaner or a broom. Old wax will have to be stripped and new coating will be added, so your floor can have deeper cleaning. You choose how many times you want to do this task, but once or twice a year is the usual number.
Simply follow the directions from manufacturer and make sure you are using stripper. Good ventilation is needed for your wood floors to dry in time. Check what kind of wax can be used on your type of floor, the manufacturer should tell you this. To apply one or two coats, follow the directions on the label.
And now you have to use a machine that will make a difference – Minuteman floor scrubber. You will have to use this process so that the wax can sink in properly and the floor can be sealed and shiny. Most people think it is a great idea to buy wood floor buffer because it helps them finish the job sooner and with less hassle. I think it is very important to know that a new floor bufer machines you buy will pay itself off after you use it for several times.
