A Solar power system uses the suns light and transforms it into a source of energy.
Solar power is now a suitable alternative to more conventional energy sources in remoter areas. It has also even been utilised as far out as in space. Solar power systems are used widely in lighting, homes, cooking and architectural programs. Solar energy has also become more popular as the cost of fossil fuels continues to rise. The main function of solar panels is to collect and focus the sun’s power.
Once the solar energy has been collected by the solar panels it needs to be converted into useable energy. This is achieved by the process of thermal application. It involves using the energy from the sun to directly heat air or liquids. The photoelectric application uses photovoltaic cells to transform energy into electricity.
Solar power is effectively green energy as it is harmless to our environment. There are however other problems to the environment which could adversly affect the ability to utilise solar power systems in the future. Pollution has resulted in global dimming. It diminishes the quantity of sunlight reaching the surface of the earth. A concern in recent times is global dimming, effectively a pollution issue that reduces the amount of sunlight reaching the surface of the earth. Global dimming is caused by pollution particles and global warming.
The Solar Electric Power Association is a group formed by electric utility companies and the solar power industry. They teamed up to find the answers to our energy demands. SEPA is a network of more than one hundred companies. Fifty are utility companies, twenty five are solar companies, and the rest are various types of businesses. They share experiences, knowledge, and information about solar programs, They also discuss policies and technology relating to their field.
Is solar energy the right source? Using this as a safe alternative to fossil fuel can have its advantages. Once solar energy is installed it is free. It can be utilised in a lot of places where conventional electricity is difficult to install. The sun is not a resource that is going to be depleted any time soon. A disadvantage is that it will not function at night. It is very expensive to create solar power stations to store energy.
It is a fact that there are areas in the world where solar energy is unavailable due to climate restrctions and lack of natural sunlight.
